In creating Can-Am, the founder wanted a machine that would be the ultimate cross-country vehicle. The goal was to build an automobile lightweight and low cost. The price was for anyone to afford it, yet rugged enough for any climate or terrain.
In 1992, the company moved its headquarters from Valcourt, Quebec to Sturtevant, Wisconsin. The new facility was designed to accommodate all aspects of ATV production. These included engineering, marketing, sales, and service.
